Despite the acrid smell of blood and disinfectant being enough to make me heave, all my time there served to do is increase my quality threshold for the meat I eat. After seeing how wafer-thin ham is made I don't buy processed meats any more. I will visit a farm butchery over a supermarket for steak any day of the week. We hand pick our turkey for Christmas while it's still running around Shelley's stable yard with the oblivious sheep that has "mutton 2010" spray-painted onto its wool. Point is, I guess, is that morality is relative. You might get ribbed from time to time for being vegetarian, but that doesn't mean we don't respect it.
